Biography

Jini Baik is a South Korean oboist based in the United States. 

She began her studies at the age of 11, and attended Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. 

Jini made her recital debut at 13 years old, she was selected for Kumho Prodigy concert (2013) and Kumho Young Artist concert (2016). 

Jini is an award-winning oboist, winning the Osaka International Competition in 2013, and the Leopold Bellan International Competition in 2014. 

Having made her concerto debut at 15 with Yangju Symphony Orchestra in Korea, she has also appeared as a soloist with the Seoul Arts High School Orchestra.

Jini has attended music festivals including Music Academy of the West (2019, 2022) and Aspen Music Festival (2023). 

As a guest musician, she has performed with the San Francisco Symphony and the Korean Chamber Orchestra. 

Jini Baik received her bachelor's degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied with Eugene Izotov, principal oboe of the San Francisco symphony. She is currently completing her master's degree at Yale University under Stephen Taylor.
